There was a minor upset in Lodz where 7th ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (3-6) was defeated by tenth ranked Widzew (3-6) 71-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 38-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) who scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Julia Adamowicz (179-94) chipped in 18 points. Widzew's coach Piotr Rozwadowski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Beata Jaworska (188-94) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Angel Goodrich (160-90, college: Kansas) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Widzew moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gorzow. Widzew will face Sosnowiec (#9) on the road in the next round.
