Regular Season Round 7: Cambados - Avila 77-69

The most surprising game was the first loss of Fontedoso Carrefour (6-1) on the court of tenth ranked Cambados on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Cambados 77-69. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Fontedoso Carrefour. Fontedoso Carrefour trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 26-21 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 69-77 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for Austrian forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. Center Alberto Rodriguez (206-75) helped adding 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side forward Carlos Toledo (198-94, agency: Duran International) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and American-Nigerian guard Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Four Fontedoso Carrefour players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cambados (3-4) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Fontedoso Carrefour at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Cambados is looking forward to face higher ranked Marin (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fontedoso Carrefour will play against Blancos de Rueda (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
