Regular Season Round 7: SMS PZKosz - Pelplin 82-85

A very interesting game took place in Wladyslawowo. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked SMS PZKosz (3-3) to fifth ranked Pelplin (5-2) 85-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SMS PZKosz. Pelplin made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 SMS PZKosz turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Karol Debski (198-84, agency: Promotex) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Guard Bartosz Majewski (186-97) answered with 22 points and 4 assists and guard Michal Kierlewicz (192-97) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for SMS PZKosz. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pelplin. They moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with AZS PGd and AZS UMK Torun. SMS PZKosz at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Pelplin's next round opponent will be AZS PGd (#3) in Gdansk, which may be the game of the day. SMS PZKosz will play on the road against Koscian (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
