Regular Season Round 8: Castellbisbal - Igualada 78-80

Very predictable result when second ranked Igualada (5-3) edged on the road 9th ranked Castellbisbal (3-5) 80-78 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 28-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Igualada dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Castellbisbal's 32. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Albert Del Hoyo (192-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and center Eduard Tejero (195-92) who added 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. Forward Marc Manes (196-86) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Felix Lopez (190-85) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Igualada have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Igualada maintains second position in Group C-B with 5-3 record having just -6 point less than leader Andujar. Castellbisbal lost third consecutive game. Castellbisbal at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Igualada will face AEC Collblanc (#7) in L´Hospitalet in the next round where they are favorite. Castellbisbal will play on the road against Castelldefels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
