Regular Season Round 11: Fyllingen BBK - Froya Basket 80-89

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Fyllingen BBK (1-5) was defeated at home by third ranked Froya Basket (5-2) 89-80 on Saturday. Fyllingen BBK trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 22-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-89 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for Latvian guard Edmunds Gabrans (188-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American power forward Peter Bullock (198-82, college: Alaska-Anch.) helped adding 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Froya Basket's coach Brent Hackman used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Calvin Henry (198-86, college: Mercer) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and guard Brede Ellingsen (188-88) scored 22 points and 4 steals. Froya Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-2 record having just three points less than leader Ammerud Bskt. Fyllingen BBK lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Froya Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fyllingen BBK will play against Centrum (#7) in Oslo and hope to win that game.
