Regular Season Round 7: Leganes - Alcobendas 72-78

Everything went according to plan when leader Alcobendas (7-0) won against on the road 10th ranked Leganes (3-4) 78-72 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Leganes won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Allison Feaster-Strong (181-76, college: Harvard) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Center Aitana Cuevas (187-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Celia Menendez (186-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and Dominican guard Yohanna Morton (172-87, college: Robert Morris) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Leganes' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Alcobendas. They maintain first place in Group B with 7-0 record. Leganes lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Alcobendas will face UCAM Jairis (#4) in Alcantarilla in the next round. Leganes will play on the road against Rivas Promete (#5) and hope to win that game.
