Regular Season Round 7: Araski AES - Adareva 75-40

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Adareva (5-2) against seventh ranked Araski AES (4-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Adareva was crushed by Araski AES in Vitoria-Gasteiz 75-40. The game without a history. Araski AES led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Adareva's 28. Araski AES forced 28 Adareva turnovers. It was a great evening for center Laura Pardo (186-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. American-Nigerian swingman Kathleen Iwuoha (180-93, college: CS Fullerton) helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Araski AES players scored in double figures. Araski AES's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American-Nigerian swingman Anma Onyeuku (181-91, college: Hofstra) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Laura Bejarano (180-82) scored 2 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Araski AES. They maintain seventh place in Group A with 4-3 record. Newly promoted Adareva dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Ensino and C.Adelantados. Araski AES will meet league's leader Al-Qazeres in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Adareva will play against Cortegada and hope to secure a win.
