Not a big story in a game in Madrid where 8th ranked Plenilunio (3-4) was defeated by third ranked Rivas Promete (5-2) 78-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rivas Promete led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Elena Diaz (188-92) produced 14 points and swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rivas Promete maintains third place in Group B with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Alcobendas, which they share with Estudiantes and UCAM Jairis. Loser Plenilunio keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Rivas Promete will face Leganes (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Plenilunio's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Madrid to the arena Olimpico 64.
