Regular Season Round 15: Aomori Watts - Saitama Bron. 87-80

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (1-10) were defeated on the road by ninth ranked Aomori Watts (5-6) 87-80 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 48-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Makoto Sawaguchi (184-91) helped adding 24 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Mitsuhiro Kamezaki (189-86) scored 19 points. Four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Saitama Broncos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aomori Watts maintains ninth place with 5-6 record. Saitama Broncos lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Aomori Watts will face again Saitama Broncos (#11) at home in the next round.
