Everything went according to plan in Starogard where second ranked AZS Polfarmex (6-1) beat 13th ranked Polpharma (1-5) 94-81 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-81. AZS Polfarmex outrebounded Polpharma 38-17 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 68.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was American power forward Kevin Johnson (201-84, college: Humboldt St.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import point guard Adonte Parker (186-89, college: Dayton) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) who recorded 20 points and point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS Polfarmex have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record having just -1 point less than leader Stelmet ZG. Loser Polpharma dropped to the fifteenth place with five games lost. They share the position with PGE Turow. AZS Polfarmex will meet at home Energa Czarni (#6) in the next round. Polpharma will play against Twarde Pierniki (#4) in Torun and hope to win that game.
