Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Hapoel Tel-Aviv (2-4) and Maccabi Ashdod (3-3), which took place in Ashdod. 7th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost to tenth ranked Maccabi Ashdod in a road game 86-91. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod's coach Zvi Sherf allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Christopher Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) with 27 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St., agency: Two Points) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Maccabi Ashdod have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliyya and Ironi Nahariya. Hapoel Tel-Aviv at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in Nes Ziyona in the next round where they are favorite. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play at home against Maccabi K/G and hopes to get back on the winning track.
