Regular Season Round 7: Granada - Clinicas Rincon 80-68

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked CB Granada (5-2) defeated at home 7th ranked Clinicas Rincon (3-4) 80-68. The game was mostly controlled by CB Granada. Clinicas Rincon was better in second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CB Granada made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. CB Granada outrebounded Clinicas Rincon 47-30 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Duane James (196-83, college: Binghamton, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. The former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. James is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. Congolese forward Judicael Belemene (205-97) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Carlos Corts (182-97) added 19 points in the effort for Clinicas Rincon. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Granada moved-up to second place, which they share with Lucentum and Moron. Clinicas Rincon at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. CB Granada's next round opponent will be Araberri (#9) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and are hoping to win another game. Clinicas Rincon will play at home against Moron and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
