Regular Season Round 15: Niigata Albirex - Fukushima 83-74

The game between Top Four teams took place in Niigata. First ranked host Niigata Albirex (10-2) defeated 3rd placed Fukushima (7-4) 83-74. 83-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fukushima won third quarter 24-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niigata Albirex made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Chris Oliver (201-85, college: Radford) helped adding 20 points. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) with 25 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Stephan Van Treese (206-90, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Fukushima's coach Hiroki Fujita rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Niigata Albirex maintains first place with 10-2 record. Loser Fukushima keeps the third position with four games lost. Niigata Albirex will face again Fukushima (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
