Regular Season Round 8: Varese Coels. - Bergamo 80-82

A very interesting game took place in Varese. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Varese Coels. (4-4) to third ranked Bergamo (6-2) 82-80 on Saturday evening. The winners were led by guard Alessandro Panni (189-91) who scored that evening 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Marco Planezio (196-91, agency: Players Group) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Even 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international point guard Federico Bolzonella (184-84) did not help to save the game for Varese Coels.. Power forward Giulio Castelletta (206-92) added 13 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Four Varese Coels. players scored in double figures. Bergamo moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Milano Urania. Varese Coels. at the other side keeps the seventh position with four games lost. Bergamo's next round opponent will be league's leader Udine APU at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Varese Coels. will play against Lecco (#4) and hope to win that game.
