Regular Season Round 9: Peja - Bashkimi 88-73

An exciting game was played in Peje. Leader Peja faced 4th placed Bashkimi. Host Peja (7-0) defeated guests from Prizren (4-4) 88-73. The game was mostly controlled by Peja. Bashkimi managed to win fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bashkimi 43-21 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Drilon Hajrizi (203-91) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Alban Veseli (202-90) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Peja players scored in double figures. Peja's coach Pavic Branimir used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tre Bussey (190-91, college: Georgia South) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists and American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St., agency: PEPI SPORT) added 20 points respectively. Peja have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Bashkimi at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Peja are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kerasan (#7) in Prishtina in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bashkimi will have a break next round.
