Regular Season Round 7: Polonia Leszno - Gimbasket WRC 96-31

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Gimbasket WRC (1-6) was outplayed on the road by leader Polonia Leszno (7-0) 96-31 on Saturday. Polonia Leszno held Gimbasket WRC to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Polonia Leszno forced 31 Gimbasket WRC turnovers and outrebounded them 46-19 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Szymon Milczynski (204-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Bartosz Zubik (193-87) helped adding 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Polonia Leszno players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Jakub Wajerowski (198-94) responded with 11 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Maciej Szeszycki (207-96) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Polonia Leszno. They maintain first place in Group D with 7-0 record. Gimbasket WRC lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with six games lost. Polonia Leszno will face Rawia (#4) in Rawicz in the next round. Gimbasket WRC's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Wroclaw WKK Wroclaw.
