There was no surprise when 5th ranked TAKE Tolosa (2-2) was edged on the road by top-ranked Santurtzi (4-0) 66-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 21-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Santurtzi outrebounded TAKE Tolosa 33-15 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Alex Hernandez (190-93) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) who added 14 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Guard Lander Lasa (193-88) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Goar Arteche (186-77) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Santurtzi have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with Pielagos. Loser TAKE Tolosa dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Santurtzi will face La Fecha (#13) in Arroyo Encomienda in the next round which should be an easy win for them. TAKE Tolosa will play at home against Valladolid Univ. (#9) and hope to win that game.
