Regular Season Round 9: Heffingen - Etzella 64-78

The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the Total League was a home defeat of 7th ranked Heffingen (3-6) to eighth ranked Etzella (4-5) 78-64. The game was mostly controlled by Etzella. Heffingen managed to win second period 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Etzella won last quarter 26-14. American power forward Justin Smith (201-87, college: Hawaii-Hilo) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and Canadian power forward Billy McNutt (203-85) chipped in 12 points and 15 rebounds. Four Etzella players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Jalen Nesbitt (198, college: N.Florida, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Brad Reese (199-88, college: Texas Tech) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Etzella moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sparta. Heffingen lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Residence and Soleuvre. Etzella is looking forward to face Residence (#8) in Bereldange in the next round. Heffingen will play on the road against Sparta in Bertrange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
