Very important is a road loss of second ranked Gdynia (6-3) against fifth ranked Polkowice (7-2) on Saturday night. Visiting Gdynia was defeated by Polkowice in Polkowice 59-45. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gdynia. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Polkowice dominated on the defensive end, holding Gdynia to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 11 points in second half. Polkowice forced 23 Gdynia turnovers. It was a good game for Serbian guard Miljana Bojovic (181-87) who led her team to a victory with 16 points and 4 assists. American center Shawnice Wilson (198-90, college: Miami, FL, agency: Merit Management Group) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import center Paris Johnson (193-89, college: San Diego St.) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Gdynia. Gdynia's coach Katarzyna Dydek rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Polkowice have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Artego Bydg. Gdynia at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with AZS UMCS and Sleza Wroclaw. Polkowice will play against MKK Siedlce (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gdynia will have a break next round.
