Regular Season Round 7: Parma - Umbertide 49-75

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Umbertide's (4-3) easy road victory over 6th ranked Parma (3-4) 75-49 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Umbertide led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Parma's 26. Canadian power forward Wumi Agunbiade (188-92, college: Duquesne) fired 18 points for the winners. American guard Meighan Simmons (175-92, college: Tennessee) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) produced 6 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Christine Clark (173-92, college: Harvard, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Umbertide have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Di Lupari. Parma at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Torino and Cagliari CUS. Umbertide is looking forward to face Napoli (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Parma will play against Di Lupari (#5) in San Martino di L and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
