Bottom-ranked Canberra Capitals is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to eighth ranked Adelaide Lightning (2-6) 78-71. Canberra Capitals were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Canberra Capitals 52-30 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Kayla Standish (187-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Kelly Bowen (182-89, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Abby Bishop (189-88) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Jessica Bibby (169-79) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Adelaide Lightning maintains eighth position with 2-6 record. Canberra Capitals at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Adelaide Lightning's next round opponent will be league's leader Perth Lynx on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Canberra Capitals will play against Townsville Fire (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
