Regular Season Round 10: Mark Basket - Visby 68-66

Important game to mention about took place in Kinna. Fifth ranked Mark Basket (5-3) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Visby Ladies (4-6) 68-66 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as Visby Ladies took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mark Basket had a 18-14 second period charge getting the lead and Visby Ladies were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-68. Mark Basket forced 24 Visby Ladies turnovers. Strangely Visby Ladies outrebounded Mark Basket 45-32 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Brittany Wilson (170-92, college: Colorado) notched 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and forward Elin Ljunggren (184-96) supported her with 18 points. Even a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Samarie Walker (185-92, college: Kentucky, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Visby Ladies. Her fellow American import center Patricia Oaks (193-89, college: Colgate) added 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mark Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sallen. Visby Ladies lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Mark Basket will again play against Visby Ladies (#6) on the road in the next round. Visby Ladies will play against Akropol in Spanga and hope to get back on the winning track.
