Regular Season Round 6: AZS Koszalin - Anwil 75-68

An interesting game took place in Koszalin where higher ranked Anwil (4-2) was upset on the court of ninth ranked AZS Koszalin (4-3) 75-68 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 24-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Ra'shad James (188-90, college: Kaiser) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Artur Mielczarek (196-83) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90) who recorded 17 points and the former international center Robert Tomaszek (205-81, college: Texas Tech) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS Koszalin moved-up to eighth place. Loser Anwil dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Energa Czarni and Rosa Radom. AZS Koszalin will meet higher ranked Rosa (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Anwil will play against Wilki Morskie in Szczecin and hope to secure a win.
