Not a big story in a game in Kolobrzeg where 8th ranked Itago Gdynia (2-4) was rolled over by first ranked Kotwica (6-1) 93-54 on Sunday. Kotwica dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Itago Gdynia's 22. They outrebounded Itago Gdynia 52-38 including a 44-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kotwica looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Itago Gdynia's players. Itago Gdynia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Grzegorz Arabas (191-78, agency: Promotex) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points and 5 assists. Point guard Dawid Mieczkowski (188-89, agency: Promotex) helped adding 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Kotwica players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Szymon Janiewski (198-87) responded with 9 points and 5 rebounds and guard Maciej Gogola (188-81) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Kotwica. They maintain first place in Group A with 6-1 record. Itago Gdynia lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Kotwica will face TKM Wloclawek (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itago Gdynia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Gdynia Asseco II.
