Rather expected game when 8th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (5-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Shimane Magic (8-6) 76-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Fukuoka Rizing was better in second period 18-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shimane Magic dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Fukuoka Rizing's 24. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Shimane Magic and four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Iwate Big Bulls and Kanazawa Samuraiz. Fukuoka Rizing lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Shimane Magic will face Hiroshima L. (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fukuoka Rizing will play against Takamatsu FA (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
