Regular Season Round 8: Vigren - Betanzos 89-61

Date: November 15, 2015
Everything could happen in Zamora at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Vigren and 9th ranked Betanzos had identical 1-1 record. This time Vigren used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Betanzos 89-61 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Vigren. Betanzos was better in third quarter 22-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Betanzos to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds and guard Jonatan Bosa (186-92) who added 15 points during the contest. Four Vigren players scored in double figures. Guard Antonio Seijo (193-81) responded with 20 points and Jose Miguel Perez scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vigren (2-1) moved-up to second place in Group A-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Betanzos dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. Vigren will face Estudiantes L. (#10) in Lugo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Betanzos will play at home against the league's leader Mieres BVM and hope to win that game.
