Regular Season Round 9: Gigantes - Fuerza Regia 93-89

Bottom-ranked Gigantes managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they won against fourth-ranked Fuerza Regia in Toluca 93-89. It was a good game for the former international guard Carlos Toussaint (190-91) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Tyrone White (201-90, college: CSU Bakersfield) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international guard Gabriel Giron (190-88) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Five Gigantes and four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gigantes (2-7) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Santos and Indios. Fuerza Regia at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Gigantes is again looking forward to face higher ranked Fuerza Regia (#4) in Monterrey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fuerza Regia will have a break next round.
