Very expected game in Dabrowa Gornicza where bottom-ranked MKS DG 2 (0-7) was crushed by leader Polonia Bytom (7-0) 90-62 on Sunday. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 32 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Polonia Bytom forced 23 MKS DG 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. MKS DG 2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Emil Podkowinski (194-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Rafal Sebrala (194-87) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) responded with 12 points and 5 assists and Mateusz Szczypinski (193-98) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Polonia Bytom. They maintain first place in Group C with 7-0 record. MKS DG 2 lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Polonia Bytom will face Zaglebie (#4) in Sosnowiec in the next round. MKS DG 2 will play at home against MCKiS Jaworz. (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
