There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Scafati Cesarano (3-5) won against at home higher ranked Palestrina (6-2) 89-72 on Sunday. Scafati Cesarano dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Palestrina's 26. They outrebounded Palestrina 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Croatian forward Marko Mlinar (200-83) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Ernesto Carrichiello (195-84) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Scafati Cesarano players scored in double figures. point guard Gianmarco Rossi (182-90) produced 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Dario Molinari (188-92) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Scafati Cesarano moved-up to ninth place in B. Loser Palestrina dropped to the second position with two games lost. Scafati Cesarano will face Maddaloni (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Palestrina will play against Isernia (#12) and hope to win that game.
