Regular Season Round 8: Zarautz - Cantbasket 78-70

Date: November 15, 2015
There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Cantbasket (1-3) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Zarautz (1-3) 78-70 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cantbasket won third quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Zarautz won last quarter 25-18. They also forced 22 Cantbasket turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Jon Tobarra (-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds and Estanislao Andres (185-90) who added 13 points and 6 assists during the contest. American guard Greg Langston (190, college: S.Connecticut) responded with 17 points and 4 steals and his fellow American import center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zarautz left bottom position moving up to tenth place in Group A-A, which they share with Cantbasket and Burgos. Zarautz will face higher ranked Ardoi (#4) in Zizur Mayor in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
