The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Giorgo Tesi PT as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Giorgo Tesi PT defeated 8th ranked Juvecaserta in Pistoia 93-84 in overtime. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Juvecaserta. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-16. But Juvecaserta won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Juvecaserta used huge pressure winning it 20-19 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 5-14. Giorgo Tesi PT made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Juvecaserta was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian point guard Ariel Filloy (189-87, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Giorgo Tesi PT's coach Vincenzo Esposito allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import point guard Peyton Siva (185-90, college: Louisville) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Juvecaserta. Four Giorgo Tesi PT and five Juvecaserta players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Juvecaserta at the other side dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Openjobmetis V. and Betaland CdO. Juvecaserta will play next round against AV Cantu trying to get back on the winning streak. Giorgo Tesi PT will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Betaland CdO at Capo d'Orlando.
