Regular Season Round 8: Forli - Monsummano 90-70

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Monsummano (2-6) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Forli (6-1) 90-70 on Sunday. Forli dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Monsummano's 34. They outrebounded Monsummano 46-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Forli looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Monsummano's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Paolo Rotondo (204-89, agency: Players Group) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Michele Ferri (191-85) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Forli players scored in double figures. Power forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Gabriele Giarelli (197-93) added 14 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forli moved-up to third place in B. Loser Monsummano dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Forli will face Faenza (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Monsummano will play against Trecate (#16) and hope to win that game.
