Regular Season Round 7: Ostrow Mazow. - AZS UMCS 46-73

There was a minor upset in Ostrow Mazowiecki where 4th placed Ostrow Mazow. (3-4) was crushed by ninth ranked AZS UMCS (3-4) 73-46 on Sunday. AZS UMCS held Ostrow Mazow. to an opponent 21.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Ostrow Mazow. 48-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Rafal Krol (200-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Mateusz Wisniewski (202-91) helped adding 18 points and 16 rebounds. At the losing side Przemyslaw Jaworski (200-92) responded with 5 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Bartosz Grudzinski (186-91) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS UMCS moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Ostrow Mazow. AZS UMCS will face Stal SW (#8) in Stalowa Wola in the next round. Ostrow Mazow. will play on the road against Shmoolky W-wa (#5) in Warszawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
