There was a minor upset in Wroclaw where 12th ranked Slask (2-5) was defeated by fifteenth ranked MKS Start (2-5) 75-68 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. MKS Start made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Nick Kellogg (190-91, college: Ohio) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Jan Grzelinski (180-94, college: Canisius) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. MKS Start's coach Pawel Turkiewicz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Anthony Smith (195-86, college: Liberty) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Ukrainian Vitaliy Kovalenko (204-84) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. MKS Start moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Slask Wroclaw. Slask lost third consecutive game. MKS Start will meet at home higher ranked Wilki Morskie (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Slask will play against Anwil in Wloclawek and hope to secure a win.
