Regular Season Round 8: Isernia - Cassino 78-106

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Isernia (2-6) was outplayed at home by fourth ranked Cassino (6-2) 106-78 on Sunday. Cassino looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Luca Ianes (203-80, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Daniele Grilli (191-87) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Cassino's coach Luca Vettese felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Mirko Gentili (195-93) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists and swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Five Cassino and four Isernia players scored in double figures. Cassino moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Bergamo and Milano Urania. Loser Isernia dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Cassino will face Roma S.Azzurra (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Isernia will play against Palestrina in Roma and hope to win that game.
