There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Pescara (5-3) won against on the road one of their biggest challengers Monteroni (5-3) 78-61 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was guard Marco Timperi (188-97) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Emidio Di Donato (200-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Four Pescara players scored in double figures. Center Manuele Mocavero (203-80) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Dominican guard Yancarlos Jefferson Rodriguez (195-94) added 11 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Pescara moved-up to fifth place in B, which they share with Crema. Pescara will face Taranto (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Monteroni will play against San Severo (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
