There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Virtus Cagliari (0-7) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Albino (4-2) 71-60 on Sunday. Virtus Cagliari was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Gordana Bedalov (191-84, college: FIU) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. The former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. Albino's coach Michele Pasqua used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian forward Mia Masic (180-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Giada Ballardini (172-86) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Albino moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Virtus Cagliari still closes the standings with seven games lost. Albino will face Civitanova (#10) in Civitanova Marche in the next round where they are favorite. Virtus Cagliari will play at home against the league's leader Broni (#1) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
