Regular Season Round 7: AV Cantu - Scandone AV 84-82

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Scandone AV (2-5) was edged on the road by fourteenth ranked AV Cantu (2-5) 84-82 on Sunday. Scandone AV was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 21-12 charge of AV Cantu, which allowed them to win the game. International Awudu Abass (199-93, agency: Players Group) fired 29 points and 4 steals for the winners. American power forward Jared Berggren (208-90, college: Wisconsin, agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). AV Cantu's coach Fabio Corbani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and American-Georgian point guard Taurean Green (183-85, college: Florida) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AV Cantu moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Scandone AV. AV Cantu will face higher ranked Juvecaserta (#9) in Caserta in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
