We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Barcelona where eighth ranked Barbera (3-5) won against 7th ranked Sant Nicolau (3-5) 80-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Barbera. Sant Nicolau was better in second period 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of center Luis Lopez (205-95) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and Jose Bernuz (198-81) who added 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Barbera's coach David Lizano used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Keith Wilson (191-83, college: CS Monterey) responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Larry Ewulu (-92) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sant Nicolau players scored in double figures. Barbera moved-up to seventh place in Group C-A, which they share with defeated Sant Nicolau. Barbera's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Barcelona to the arena JAC Sants.
