The biggest surprise of round 6 was guest Azad's (4-2) road victory over Samen (#5) 83-79 on Monday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 29-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Samen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international M. Reza Akbari (196-86) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. International power forward Rouzbeh Arghavan (214-88) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Azad's coach Mostafa Hashemi used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Erfan Nasajpour (177-84) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and the former international swingman Ali Jamshidi (196-85) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Azad moved-up to third place, which they share with Petrochimi. Samen at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Gorgan and Arak. Azad's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tehran Ayandeh Sazan.
