An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tehran. First ranked Chemidor faced 3rd ranked Arak. Host Chemidor (5-1) defeated guests from Arak (3-3) 72-65. Arak trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 22-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 65-72 at the end of the game. International Oshin Sahakian (200-86) scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Five Chemidor players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international center Asghar Kardoust (212-86) with 27 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Croatian power forward Zvonko Buljan (206-87, college: TCU) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Newly promoted Chemidor maintains first position with 5-1 record, which they share with Naft Abadan. Arak at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Gorgan and Samen. Chemidor will meet at home Shah.Tabriz (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arak will play against Petrochimi in Bandar Imam and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
