Very expected game in Tarnobrzeg where 9th ranked Stabill Jezioro (3-3) was defeated by top-ranked Stelmet (6-0) 64-54 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Stelmet. Stabill Jezioro managed to win third quarter 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Stabill Jezioro 57-31 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati) who scored 6 points and 19 rebounds. The former international power forward Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Stelmet's coach Saso Filipovski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Gary Bell (190-92, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Zach Robbins (208-91, college: Dixie St.) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively. Stelmet have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Stabill Jezioro lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with Stal Ostrow. Stelmet will meet bottom-ranked Trefl (#17) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Stabill Jezioro will play against Trefl (#17) in Sopot and hope to secure a win.
