Regular Season Round 10: Gigantes - Fuerza Regia 91-96

Very expected game in Toluca where 9th ranked Gigantes (2-8) were defeated by fourth ranked Fuerza Regia (6-2) 96-91. It was a very good performance for American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Puerto Rican guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-91) contributed with 18 points and 8 assists for the winners. Fuerza Regia's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Howard Crawford (205-88, college: UAB) replied with 22 points and 4 assists and naturalized American Eder Zuniga (190-87, college: Carroll, MT) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Gigantes. Four Fuerza Regia and five Gigantes players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia moved-up to third place, which they share with Abejas. Gigantes at the other side dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. Fuerza Regia's next round opponent will be Ciudad (#9) in Ciudad Juarez where they are favorite. Gigantes will play on the road against Abejas in Guanajuato and hope to win that game.
