Regular Season Round 7: North Control B. - Bayi R. 84-91

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Bayi Rockets (3-4) won against 10th ranked North Control (3-4) in Beijing 91-84 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 31-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Bayi Rockets forced 28 North Control turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bayi Rockets made 7 blocks. North Control was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Yuchen Zou (197-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Liang Yu (209-86) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for North Control. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bayi Rockets moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated North Control. Bayi Rockets will face higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#9) in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
