Regular Season Round 7: Alba Chorzow - Zaglebie 69-61

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Alba Chorzow (3-4) beat at home 4th placed Zaglebie (4-3) 69-61 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Zaglebie 47-30 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Lukasz Wojcik (189-84) helped adding 18 points. At the losing side point guard Michal Kwiatkowski (186-92, agency: Promotex) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Piotr Osiakowski (197-92) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Alba Chorzow moved-up to seventh place in Group C, which they share with MCKiS Jaworz. and Pogon RS. Loser Zaglebie keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Alba Chorzow will face higher ranked Cieszyn (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaglebie will play against the league's leader Polonia Bytom having rather not much hope for a victory.
