Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Shanghai Sharks (4-3) and Jilin Tigers (3-4), which took place in Changchun. Higher ranked Shanghai Sharks were outleveled in a road game by fifteenth ranked Jilin Tigers 95-72 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shanghai Sharks. The game was mostly controlled by Jilin Tigers. Shanghai Sharks was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jilin Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Shanghai Sharks' 42. They outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 56-45 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Jinming Cui (193-92) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. American point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and international guard XiaoYu Liu (191-89) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Shanghai Sharks. Shanghai Sharks' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Jilin Tigers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the eighth position with three games lost. Jilin Tigers will face higher ranked Sichuan BW (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
