An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sao Paolo. Top-ranked Paulistano faced 3rd ranked Flamengo. Host Paulistano (5-0) defeated guests from Rio de Janeiro (3-2) 67-60. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Flamengo. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Paulistano forced 19 Flamengo turnovers. It was a good game for the former international center Caio Silveira (211-87, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Arthur Pecos (183-95) contributed with 10 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Joao Paulo Batista (205-81, college: Gonzaga) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) added 13 points in the effort for Flamengo. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Paulistano have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Defending champion Flamengo dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with Pinheiros and S.Jose/Unimed. Paulistano will play against Caxias do Sul (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flamengo will play against SKY/Basquete (#8) in Aldeota and hopes to get back on the winning track.
