Regular Season Round 5: Nantes - Le Portel 74-72

Important game to mention about took place in Nantes. Sixth ranked Nantes (4-1) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed Le Portel (3-2) 74-72 on Friday evening. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 22-18 run, which allowed them to win the game. American Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: I.D.S. Law) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized DR Congolese point guard Henry Kahudi (194-91) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American center Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Benoit Mangin (191-88) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Le Portel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nantes have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Boulogne. Le Portel at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Lille. Nantes will play against Provence Basket (#9) in Fos-sur-Mer in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Le Portel will play at home against Orchesien BC and hopes to get back on the winning track.
