Regular Season Round 7: Fujian QB - Shandong FB 97-107

Very expected game when 11th ranked Fujian (3-4) lost to seventh ranked Shandong Bulls (5-2) in Jinjiang 97-107 on Friday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 34-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Shandong Bulls made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Fujian turnovers. It was a very good performance for American forward Michael Beasley (208-89, college: Kansas St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) contributed with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Shandong Bulls' coach Aleksandar Kesar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Fujian. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Shandong Bulls moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangdong ST and Guangsha L. Loser Fujian keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. Shandong Bulls will face Guandong Tigers (#4) in Dongguan in the next round. Fujian will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
