The game in San Luis Potosi was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Jefes (4-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Santos (3-8). Jefes managed to secure a 5-point victory 74-69 on Friday. It was a great evening for American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76) helped adding 10 points and 5 assists. Jefes' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Chris Cayole (201-85, college: St.Michael's) responded with 27 points and the other American import guard Mark Borders (188-82, college: Tampa) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jefes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Correcaminos. Newly promoted Santos keep the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Indios and Gigantes. Jefes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santos will play again against Jefes (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
